Basic knowledge

Backgammon is a game played by two chess players on a special board. Each player controls a set of 15 identical chess pieces-called checkers or chips, which differ from their opponents by contrasting colors.

A set of chips belonging to each player moves the board in the opposite direction (clockwise vs. counterclockwise) specified in advance according to the roll of a pair of dice.

Board of Directors

There are 24 narrow isosceles triangles on the board. Twelve triangular cusps appear on the upper edge of the board, and the twelve triangular cusps appear on the lower edge of the board—just like the upper and lower sets of shark teeth.

Each triangle is called a point. These points are like space on a chessboard, and the player's pieces move according to the rolling of the dice. The points are theoretically numbered from 1 to 24.

Physically speaking, this plank is divided vertically into two recessed rectangular parts by a bar extending from the middle. The outer edges of both halves have a raised frame that matches the height of the central ridge or rod.

In theory, the board of directors is divided into four quadrants. On the side of the crossbar-the players agree to decide whether they are in the left or right half-the two quadrants facing each other are the "home board" for each player. The two opposite quadrants on the other side of the bar are their respective "outer panels".

Mounting plate

Player 1 starts with dark chips:

5 chips in the 6th point of his or her home quadrant

There are 3 chips in the 8th point of his or her outer quadrant

Player 2 has 5 chips at point 13 in the outer quadrant

Game

Broad goals

Each player must try to stop him or her by combining luck (rolling the dice) and offensive and defensive tactics (scoring, building blocks, etc.), trying to take all their chips, the first quadrant home separately, and then assume their board of directors, while trying to stop him or her The opponent achieves the same goal. The first player to remove all chips from the board wins.

Direction of movement

Player 1 tries to distribute all his dark chips around the board in a counterclockwise direction, first move to his home-bottom, right-hand side-quadrant, and then move them out of the board.

Player 2 moves his light-colored chips in a clockwise direction, first returns to the home-the upper quadrant of his right hand, and then moves his chips out of the board.

Who first?

Two players each roll a dice. Toss the beginning of a bigger number. The two numbers are thrown in this way (deciding who goes first) effectively become the first dice in the game. The player who starts moves according to this scroll.

Basis for movement

Based on the result of the dice roll, the players take turns to move their chips in the specified direction.

A player's chips cannot be moved to a position already occupied by the opponent's two or more chips. In this case, the player needs to find an alternative move.

Unlike many other board games, the numbers displayed on each roll of two dice are not cumulative, but independent moves.

In other words, if the player rolls a 2 and a 4, he or she can move one chip forward by 4 points and the other chip forward by 2 points, provided that both target points are open (not being doubled). One or more opponent chips occupy).

The player can of course choose to move one chip in advance by six points, but this is still considered two separate moves. Players can complete the following actions:

The end (6 o'clock ahead) is open

One or two points in the middle (two or four points in front) are open.

Note that even if an intermediate point (such as the first two points) is not opened, the player can still move forward by 6 points. The method is to first move forward 4 points (thus bypassing the block), and then move forward unimpeded. The next two steps-and vice versa.

However, the player must not advance 6 points, even if it is open, if these two midpoints (the first two and four points) are not open (i.e. the opponent has two or more chips in the two midpoints), As the player blocked the movement from the two ingredients made by adding 6.
